Haila Williams
Haila Williams was born in Connecticut and spent her childhood there as well as in the Midwest. She studied art at Indiana University, the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, and the Harrington College of Design in Chicago, Illinois. She enjoys painting nature, views of the Rogue Valley, and also urban landscapes, including views of New York City and Central Park. Among her influences are the works of David Hockney, Raoul Dufy, Ornulf Opdahl, and Joan Mitchell. Atmospheric conditions and weather are another strong influence on her work. Haila’s medium is watercolor, inks, and pastel, though in recent years she switched to working with water-soluble mediums exclusively. She tries to live each day by taking the time to admire at least one beautiful thing. Her works were exhibited in NYC, Portland, OR, as well as locally. She lives and works in Phoenix, Oregon.
